Is mold dangerous?
Yes, certain types of mold can pose health risks, especially for individuals with asthma, allergies, or compromised immune systems. Exposure can lead to respiratory symptoms, skin irritation, or sinus issues. Toxic molds, like black mold (Stachybotrys), can be particularly hazardous in prolonged or high-level exposures.
How do i know if i have mold?
Common signs include musty odors, visible black, green, or white spots on walls, ceilings, or baseboards, and unexplained health symptoms like coughing or congestion. If you've had recent water damage or humidity issues, mold may also be hidden behind walls or under flooring. For that, our thermal imaging technology can find damp locations, but further testing may be required.
what is black mold?
Black mold refers to a toxic type of mold commonly known as Stachybotrys. It thrives in damp, cellulose-rich environments like drywall or ceiling tiles. It's often associated with strong odors and potential health effects as it affects you central nervous system. You may experience side effects like fatigue, respiratory distress, and headaches.
How much does mold remediation cost?
Costs vary based on the severity, location, and size of the infestation. Small residential jobs and larger or commercial projects all differ. We offer free inspections and same-day written reports to give you a clear estimate upfront.
Can i clean mold myself?
The guidelines set forth by the EPA suggest that mold growth covering an area of 10 sq ft or less does not pose a "Cross Contamination" issue to other parts of your home.  This means that there isn't enough mold present in a 10 sq ft area, or less, to affect other rooms if you were to clean it yourself without any level of containment.  If it is a surface growth issue, you can clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent.  We usually recommend products like Spic n Span, 409, Krud Kutter, Simple Green, Lysol, etc.  Use whatever cleaner you like to use that is not bleach based.  Remember, bleach doesn't kill mold... soap and water does.  Simply spray the area then wipe with a damp cloth.  That is it.  If discoloration remains, you can paint with an anti-fungal paint to encapsulate to help prevent future mold and it will also improve visual appearance.
